Heavy rains and parking conundrums were not enough to keep people away from this year’s Fan Expo Dallas. People from the DFW area, as well as all over the country, came flooding into The Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center to meet their favorite celebrities.
The new Power Rangers movie made a strong debut by earning over $65M on opening weekend. In an attempt to relive childhood memories, people of all ages rushed to the box office to get a taste of the nostalgia. Even though the film had a brand new cast for the leading roles, there were two original members that returned for a quick cameo. One of those actors was none other than the original Green Ranger, Jason David Frank.
This weekend I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with Sean Patrick Flanery at this year’s Fan Expo Dallas. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sean, he is a native Texan that has been on the big screen since the 1990s.
While hair bands may have dissipated since the 1980s, there are several cinematic productions that have withstood the test of time. Back to the Future is arguably one of the best products to have come out of this time period. The quotes and characters still reverberate in pop culture today. I was lucky enough to speak with Tom Wilson, AKA Biff Tannen, while I was at Fan Expo Dallas.
Headlining the impressive list of pop culture luminaries on hand will be Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, the living legend Stan Lee, as well as members of the cast of the internationally famous cult movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, including actors Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Meat Loaf, Patricia Quinn and Nell Campbell.
