Panicking because you don't have a weekend in-Dallas date idea? Need to know what to do with the spouse and kids a few weeks in advance? This is your list. This list is also for those festival junkies that like to #festhard all year long. We've meticulously poured through 130+ websites to get you these official 2018 dates of 90 D-FW festivals as early in 2018 as we could. It's not everything, but those that have their dates listed on what should be their first place to disseminate info, their website.

These aren't just any Dallas-Fort Worth festivals & events either, this is a curated list of which 70% - 80% we've attended or promoted over the last 13 years. Thus, we can vouch for the festival or events' legitimacy. Secondly, to further authenticate this list, most of these festivals listed have stood the test of time. Except for possibly one or two of which 2018 is their inaugural year, many have occurred annually for many years (a handful for as much as 30 years). It took us living in Dallas, keeping our eyes and ears open, attending winners and the duds to identify some of the best that D-FW has to offer.

AnimeFest brings Cos Play and Connections to Dallas August 17th-20th

AnimeFest is a convention for fans of anime, manga, games and other forms of pop-culture. As the name suggests, AnimeFest, is largely based around "anime" or Japanese animation. Its' primary motivation to educate the public about anime and the cultural aspects surrounding it. When formed back in 1992 the term "anime" was largely unknown. Many of the "cartoons" on TV were adaptations of Japanese TV shows and some began to realize this and seek more. A small, but rapidly growing fandom was emerging out of the science fiction/fantasy fandom.

Asian Film Festival Dallas Showcases July 19th-26th

The Asian Film Festival of Dallas (AFFD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and supporting emerging and established Asian and Asian-American filmmakers and sharing the rich diversity of Asian culture through the medium of cinema. Over the last fifteen years, the festival has provided opportunities for over 400 Asian and Asian American filmmakers and documentarians to share their vision, often providing the only venue for their films to be shown in Dallas. The films have also allowed festival goers a chance to experience other lives and cultures without leaving their seats. This year, AFFD is proud to celebrate its 17th annual film festival, July 19-26, 2018, at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. As we do every year, we will be featuring films from across the world, including films from Asian filmmakers right here in the USA.
