The Big Texas Beer Fest returns to Dallas’ Fair Park on April 5th after two highly successful events in 2012 and 2013. Named as Dallas Observer’s best beer festival two years in a row, and drawing more than 5,000 attendees last year, the event will be held in same location in Fair Park’s Automobile Building. This year’s event intends to attract nearly 100 breweries, believed to be the most of any Texas beer festival, including over 25 breweries from the state of Texas.

Whether you’re headed to the parade or not this weekend, here are some other alternative transportation options than driving yourself any time you want to go out and consume alcohol by yourself or with your friends.

Despite the on-and-off drizzle and the cooler temperatures, the masses came out for the Untapped Beer and Music Festival in Fort Worth. Personally, I was the one hoping the weather would keep away more people, leaving shorter beer lines for the rest of us.

Beer and music have always been great together. They practically go hand-in-hand, as seen by the explosion of the popularity of the Untapped Music and Beer Festival. Now, breweries are starting to jump on the same trend. Dogfish Head Brewery has an entire line up of music inspired beers, including: Miles Davis Bitches Brew Imperial Stout and most recently the Grateful Dead American Beauty IPA.

RAFT, which stands for River Activation for the Trinity, is having an All Out Festival. It will be happening near the Trinity River Basin below the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge this Saturday March 1st, and will feature local food vendors, craftman, and an outdoor beer garden with a sunset campfire.

Local non-profit focused on supporting international education, The Kikulu Foundation is hosting a night of good beer and good community at Craft & Growler on Tuesday, March 4th from 5:00pm-8:00pm to raise funds for children’s education in Uganda.

With the successful addition of the CANNED Festival in Denton and Untapped: Houston, the Untapped Festival comes back to the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth this year on March 8th. To date, the 2013 Fort Worth Untapped Festival has been the highest attended event so far in the series, and they don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
