Muenster was founded in 1889 by people of German heritage and Catholic faith. This unique German community located in North Texas, of approximately 1,500, is a close-knit family in both kinship and kindred spirit.
The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival is a celebration of the arts in a community known for embracing and nurturing music, dance, choral, drama and the visual arts. The free event is produced by the Denton Festival Foundation, Inc. with the generous support of sponsors such as the Dallas/Fort Worth American Federation of Musicians Local 72-147 and the city of Denton. Held the last full weekend in April at Denton’s Quakertown Park, the event features seven stages of continuous music, fine art, crafts, and food, games and information booths in a beautiful, outdoor setting. The Festival Foundation uses proceeds from booth rentals and concession sales to support the arts throughout the city of Denton. Arts facilities, service organizations, and preservation projects have all been the recipients of the proceeds from past events, in addition to public art for the enjoyment of all.
Old Settler’s has earned its reputation as one of the country’s finest roots music festivals by presenting a mix of respected veterans and exciting up-and-comers in a beautiful, relaxed setting. Campground jam sessions, engaging kids’ activities, a crafts market, specialty foods and brews, artist interactions and friendly patrons help deliver indelible memories that draw festival goers back year after year. Workshops with master performers and the Youth Talent Competition, where tomorrow’s headliners might gain early recognition and cash prizes, plus a festival slot, add to the allure of this gathering, one of the best entertainment bargains around. The nonprofit festival also gives back, via annual beneficiaries and a college scholarship program for music-related majors.
The Crossroads of Texas Film and Music Festival is gearing up April 19th-22nd. This year, the theme is “Heroes and Legends” and the programming features everything from stories about our favorite heroes and performances from legendary Texas musicians.
The Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival is scheduled for April 19-22, 2018. This is the largest, nationally ranked arts festival in the country. With a high tradition of providing top-shelf services to artists, artist awards totaling $10,500 and hundreds of thousands of affluent Metroplex buyers, Main St. continues to forge new ground in terms of increased sales for artists.
The Band of Heathens is hosting a FREE concert on Sunday, March 25 at Big Beat Dallas! The show starts at 7pm on the outdoor plaza. Stay for dinner and drinks at one of the four new original restaurants at the Big Beat Dallas complex.
