From its humble beginnings in a small meeting room of a Dallas hotel in 1978, to 140,000 square feet of display space at Dallas Market Hall today, the Dallas International Guitar Festival celebrates another year of bringing guitar dealers, manufacturers, collectors, celebrities and music enthusiasts together.

Local film nonprofit ​Dallas Film Society (DFS)​ is proud to announce its 12t​h​ annual film festival, returning to Dallas for a new eight-day event starting ​Thursday, May 3rd​ through Thursday, May 10th​. This year, for the first time ever, all competition feature and short film screenings at the Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) ​will take place at ​The Magnolia ​in Uptown’s​ West Village​ shopping center. In honor of its 12t​h​ anniversary, Dallas Film is announcing its first 12 films, representing some of the best in the art of film making.

Fortress Festival is North Texas’ destination music festival.
The annual two-day festival will hold its second edition this April 28 & 29 in Fort Worth’s world renowned Cultural District. Over 20 bands, including Father John Misty, Courtney Barnett, Rapsody and more will perform on two outdoor stages.

Muenster was founded in 1889 by people of German heritage and Catholic faith. This unique German community located in North Texas, of approximately 1,500, is a close-knit family in both kinship and kindred spirit.

The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival is a celebration of the arts in a community known for embracing and nurturing music, dance, choral, drama and the visual arts. The free event is produced by the Denton Festival Foundation, Inc. with the generous support of sponsors such as the Dallas/Fort Worth American Federation of Musicians Local 72-147 and the city of Denton. Held the last full weekend in April at Denton’s Quakertown Park, the event features seven stages of continuous music, fine art, crafts, and food, games and information booths in a beautiful, outdoor setting. The Festival Foundation uses proceeds from booth rentals and concession sales to support the arts throughout the city of Denton. Arts facilities, service organizations, and preservation projects have all been the recipients of the proceeds from past events, in addition to public art for the enjoyment of all.

Are you a cheese-lover? Wine-lover? Austin Food + Wine Festival starts next week. The festival program, includes cooking, demos, a book signing schedule, tasting sessions and more. Throughout the weekend, All-In and Weekender ticket holders will have the opportunity to get up close and personal as chefs lead engaging panels and interactive cooking demonstrations in the chef demo tent. Tasting sessions and Meet the Maker will offer attendees an informative and hands-on sampling of spirits, cocktails, and more. Friday, April 27, All-In ticket holders can officially kick-off the festival weekend with Grillin’ and Chillin’ – the ultimate hands-on grilling dinner.

Taco Libre Dallas, now in it’s fourth year, is a gathering of the region’s best taquerias served with a side of a lucha libre wrestling. It’s all about the tacos. Twenty four of the area’s best taquerias have been deliciously curated by The Taco Trail’s José Ralat. Enjoy live music from Tejas Brothers, Bidi, Bidi Banda, Los Skarnalas, and Mayta.
