Two Events Presented by Dallas Women’s Foundation

The Dallas Women's Foundation has spent the last 20+ years funding community programs that support women and girls. DWF raises money and provides grants to small, grassroots organizations committed to "create long-term, positive change." The Foundation has funded research studies and found that women and girls in Dallas were in need of programs and funding in literacy, poverty, education, employment, health, crime, and violence.

There are many ways you can get involved with the Foundation - serve on a committee, enlist the support of your company, donate to DWF, and support by attending DWF events!

Here are two happening in the next month:

Tuesday, October 7th, 4:00-6:00pm: Economic Security Indicators

This event will address the Economic Security of women and girls in Dallas Fort Worth Metro area.  Lyssa Jenkens, Chair of the Dallas Women’s Foundation Research Advisory Committee, will present the Dallas Women's Foundation Annual Indicators project.  The focus of this presentation will be key findings from the much anticipated 2008 Economic Security Indicators report.  Facilitated discussion will follow.

Dr. Jenkens is a graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas, with a PHD and Masters of Arts in Political Economy as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

The event is open to the public, however space is limited to 120.

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008, 12:00-1:30: Dallas Women's Foundation 2008 Annual Luncheon

This is DWF's largest fundraiser of the year. With about 2500 supporters attending the luncheon, the goal of the event will be to inform donors, and potential donors, of DWF accomplishments made last year and the Foundation's goals for the future. This year's guest speaker will be Jamie Lee Curtis.

As one of Hollywood’s most identifiable actresses, Jamie Lee Curtis has expanded her repertoire to include the titles of author and activist. An outspoken proponent of healthy body images for women, Curtis attracted attention in 2002 when she appeared in a magazine without stylists, makeup, or airbrushing.

The annual luncheon is open to the public and tickets are $150. Contact Dallas Women's Foundation for more information and ticket reservations. 214-965-9977
