The biggest sporting event is coming to our city and with big sporting events comes big parties. The good folks over at Susie Drinks and Dallas Socials have listed over 100 events and parties going on in Dallas - from Fair Park, Victory Park, Downtown and beyond. See performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Flaming Lips, Passion Pit, and Cirque du Soleil. Some of these parties will break the bank but don't let that stop you from having fun. There's something for everyone. Here we go - Let's get this party started!

This is a free event (sweet!) but don't come empty handed (oh?). Concerts @ has partnered with two local nonprofit organizations, See the Need, Meet the Need and Hope for Haiti, and will be collecting supplies to airlift next week to Haitian relief efforts. YOU can help by bringing in supplies or a donation to the Concerts @ event tonight. There will be boxes and donation jars around the gallery and concert space.
This month's Concerts @ brings you local funk fusion The Boss Level (myspace.com/bosslevelmusic). Stop by for the last concert @ series of the summer, listen to local music, and win stuff - it's all free!
The night will also showcase two local organizations dedicated to engaging and fighting against problems that exist within the local DFW community. Learn about these movements and more at September's Concert @ event on Friday, September 18 at 7:30pm.
Do something memorable on Friday, August 21st! Learn how to dance to the beat of Indian classical and Western hip-hop, get a custom henna design, or share some of your latest poetry during open mic.
Want to just chill out and watch a movie? You can do that, too. Under the stars and in a garden! The Nasher Center is showing The Princess Bride. And in the DMA auditorium catch the Hitchcock classic movie, Rear Window.
There will be food, drinks, lectures and tours. The last late night summer block parties in the Dallas Arts District is going to be a night to remember.
Join other Young and Cultured people like yourself on July 17th and welcome Becky Middleton to the Concerts @ Stage. The concert event is free and so are the food and drinks. Come early and stay late.

El Ten Eleven is a two piece instrumental band out of Los Angeles, CA. Bassist and composer Kristian Dunn and drummer Tim Fogarty have been playing together since 2003 and was a showcase artist at SXSW in 2006.
I first heard El Ten Eleven on the soundtrack of Helvetica, an independent documentary released in 2007. I was hooked on the entire soundtrack for a couple of months.
If you're looking for a laid back, low key scene this Saturday, I would recommend making your way to Double Wide around 10:30pm and listening to this duo live at 11.
