Top Four M Street Homes For Sale In Dallas

The M Streets area of Dallas is hot. How do we know? This article started out being Top Five M Street Homes For Sale In Dallas, but while we were writing it one of the homes went under contract.

This is a favorite neighborhood in Dallas for many reasons, but don’t just take my word for it, I asked one of the local's what he loved about living in the area.

"Ahhh – so many things to love."

“Easy access to the Katy Trail just across the highway.  Two great parks nearby, Glencoe and Tietze with plenty of room for picnics, playing with your dog or enjoying sports with friends and family.  Many great restaurants and bars on Greenville, Henderson and Knox.  All of these are within walking or biking distance, which is great due to limited parking in some of these areas. Also there aren’t many chain restaurants, so you really are supporting businesses that are owned by your neighbors."

"The neighborhood has easy access to Downtown, so residents are just minutes away from the great Arts District, American Airlines Center and other event centers.  There is also great shopping nearby with easy access to Mockingbird Station, Northpark, Highland Park Village and many local boutiques all within a 10 minute drive."

"The neighborhood is also VERY friendly and I have met my best friends while living in the M Streets.  This is truly a neighborhood where you can get a cup of flour from a neighbor and everyone knows your name.”

~ Mark Barrera

If that's the type of neighborhood you want to live in we have four great options for you to consider.

5514 Monticello Avenue

This home on Monticello Avenue is a perfect combination of 1926 and 2013. Old world charm with modern day style. Let's take a look at some of the features.

Living Area

This home has two living areas, one of which boasts this stunning stone fireplace, and beautiful hardwood floors run throughout the home.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the most expensive room in a home to update, just ask my Mom, she’s doing hers now and crying over every penny. Because of this you can find homes all over Dallas that still need a kitchen makeover, but not this home. It. Is. Perfect. Beautiful white cabinets to the ceiling, recessed lighting, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and look at that cute little wine fridge perfectly positioned under the bar.

Master Bathroom

We could show you the master suite, which includes a separate study, but since it has this spa-like bathroom, do you really care? Just look at that shower. Can you imagine starting every day in there with warm water raining over you?

5302 Merrimac Avenue

No detail has been left untouched in the recent remodel and expansion of this M Streets home on Merrimac Avenue. Period specific updates have been balanced with modern day sensibilities.

Front

Did you know that in some cultures a front door that is painted red means the house is paid for? That alone is reason enough for me to love this home.

Stained Glass Windows

This home has some of the original stained glass windows. These are in the living area looking out on the front yard.

Kitchen

I've searched for appropriate adjectives to describe this kitchen and I finally came up with quaint. To be sure I looked it up: "having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm; oddly picturesque." I think that sums it up.

5419 Morningside Avenue

Historical character abounds in this Tudor styled home. Beautiful hardwood floors seem to run throughout the first floor of this home, but my favorite feature of this home is the master suite. It is a unique space that takes up the entire second floor.

Front

It's a classic Tudor styled home, but pay close attention to the dormer window and the angles of the roof. Each of those make the master suite a very interesting space.

Layout

So that you can get a feel for the space here is the layout of the home. Look at how the second floor is arranged. I see options. Here is one idea. Make the master den the master bedroom, and use the master bedroom as a study.

Master Suite

In the master suite we have architectural angles that add visual interest, space to spare, and an intriguing layout. This area could easily become the get away space you never want to leave.

5531 Monticello

Last, but not least, we have this Monticello home that has been recently remodeled to perfection, and no detail has been overlooked.

Front

A well landscaped front yard, curving sidewalk, and beautiful front door just beg you to come into this home. I shouldn't say home. At 3,300 square feet it's a mini-mansion.

Staircase

Something about a staircase speaks volumes about a home. Sometimes they are shoved into the corner like a last minute thought. This one is front and center, demanding you pay attention to her, and for good reason. She is beautiful.

Kitchen

The color of the cabinets, the back splash  the stainless steel appliances, the granite counter top, and the slate flooring just make this room pop. It's a place where guests would hang out when you throw a party, and where family would prepare a meal together.
