Hey, Jennifer, I emailed this to you earlier this week as well, but just got an email from someone who found the event on your site.

We have revamped our tours of the Dallas Arts District, and a few things have changed, most notably that we have started charging for our walking tours now. We are working in collaboration with the Dallas Center for Architecture.

Our public tours are now $10 per person, $8 for Dallas Arts District or AIA members, $5 for seniors and students and free for children 12 and under. We now meet at the ceremonial entrance of the Dallas Museum of Art and the tour starts at 10am. For more information or to RSVP they can visit our website at www.thedallasartsdistrict.org/tours.html. The tours are held the first and third Saturday of the month.

Please update your event listings and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Thank you!

Here is the (quick) response I received from the Dallas Arts District:

"The most we have ever had on a tour is 65 people, the least 2 people. So it’s really a range. We have noticed that in the summer months the attendance has been lower because of the heat. Last month there were only 2 people on the tour. We like for people to RSVP because the tour guides can only reasonably guide 20 people, so if we have, for example 60 people who RSVP, I know I need at least 3 tour guides for the event. Let me know if there are any other questions. Thanks!"

Thank you!

Sounds like a great tour. September is a great time to be walking downtown Dallas.

About how many people attend the tour?

Hi,

I work for the Dallas Arts District and saw your post. I just wanted to correct a few things. We already had the free tour for this month, it was on Saturday, August 1st. The contact information is phone: 214-744-6642 and email artsinfo@downtowndallas.org. Please note that in the future, there may be a charge for these tours, but presently they are free. We also give private tours which can be scheduled at your convenience for a nominal fee.

Thank you!
