Over the course of the next several months, The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture will host “Speaking of Movies…,” a program for the serious movie fan looking for the right group of people with whom to talk about critically acclaimed films that have recently been released or are currently in theaters.
Chris Vognar of The Dallas Morning News, Peter Simek of D Magazine, James Faust of the Dallas Film Society and Stephen Becker of KERA’s Art + Seek will be special guest critics, each selecting the films to discuss for the month. Chris Vognar has selected MOONRISE KINGDOM and THE WORDS as September’s films for discussion. Dr. Scott Churchill, who is the series’ regular host, will co-host with James Faust in November.
The program will take place the third Monday of the month, September through December from 6:30 – 8 p.m., at The Dallas Institute. Tuition is $80 for Dallas Institute members, $90 for nonmembers and $30 for member teachers. Tickets are also available on a per-evening basis for $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers and $10 for member teachers.
