Homegrown Music and Arts Festival at Main Street Garden
[ May 22, 2010; 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. ] The new downtown park, Main Street Garden, will play host to a new community festival this month. The first annual Homegrown Music and Arts Festival has lined up some of the best of North Texas music and arts and is expected to bring in over 1500 attendees to the urban park. The event will feature 15 bands on two stages, including This Will Destroy You, The O's, and RTB2, and 20 booths for local artists and businesses.

The festival is the world's largest and oldest guitar festival, and annually draws tens of thousands of attendees, last year drawing 20,000 people to Dallas Market Hall, where the event will be held again this year.

Phantoms “Haunt” the Dallas Stage
[ February 17, 2010 10:00 am to March 14, 2010 10:00 am. ] As the lights dimmed at The Music Hall at Fair Park, the familiarly haunting opening refrain of one of America's most famous contributions to musical theater began to fill the air. As the richness of the pipe organ soared above the crowd, the eyes of all were drawn upward as the stage and the room were magically transformed into an opera house reminiscent of early 20th century France; as the all too famous chandelier took its place above the crowd, it became suddenly and undeniably clear- the Phantom of the Opera had once again arrived in Dallas.
