A project, over one and a half years in the making, finally came to fruition over this week between Dallas' own Deep Ellum Brewing Company and Jameson Irish Whiskey. The result can only be described in its name, the Local Legend. Over the last few years, the Jameson distillers were searching across America for like-minded [...]
If you're looking for a new place to make some new friends, come by Del Frisco's Grille this Thursday, to check out their new lineup of social events in Uptown. Their newest idea, the Beer Social, is an event for everyone to enjoy some of DFG's newest food creations with local brews, and mingle around [...]
Everyone knows about beer dinners and the pairing of the bitter, roasty, fruity, sweeter flavors and aromas of beer and melding them together with the savory characteristics of heavy meaty dishes and the more delicate flavors of vegetables and fish. But beer and food are much more broad and complex than that. Beer and dessert [...]
What pool and river friendly beers should you be drinking this summer? After all of this rain, the Texas weather has returned back into form as the temperatures begin to heat back up. That can only mean one thing: its pool and river floating time in Texas. And what is the best thing about pools [...]
Though the weather may have ended things a little early in terms of the musical performances, the beer was a-flowing at this year's Fort Worth Untapped Music & Beer Festival at Panther Island Pavilion. Some previously listed beers, like Rahr's new Visionary Smoked Lager and Shiner's Strawberry Blonde, did not make it out, but [...]
Spune Productions has pulled out all of the stops for this year's Fort Worth Untapped Beer & Music Festival on May 9th at Panther Island Pavilion. They have pulled together beers and breweries from across the state, the country, and the world. This year we will see a wide selection from far flung breweries like [...]
For the inaugural iliveindallas beer road trip, I traveled southbound down I-35 to our great state's capital for some beer adventures of my own. After a torrential downpour for most of my way South, I decided to stop at Austin Beerworks (ABW) for their tasting room hours to meet up with an old friend. Outside [...]
Every year in March, all eyes across the country are focused on March Madness and college basketball. About that same time, every media outlet has bracket-styled polls to garner your attention. Instead of others making the decision for what is the best of this, or the greatest of that, I give you the 2015 DFW Beer Bracket, where YOU decide what YOU like best. The idea is to print out the beer bracket below, and when you go out drinking, order a taster flight of beer matchups, and record for yourself which you like the best. As you go through the bracket, you will figure out your beer preferences, and eventually land on what DFW beer is YOUR favorite.
Some of you may have seen the article ranking the best 18 Dallas-area breweries. The article takes a fairly subjective view on a majority of the DFW (Ft. Worth is not Dallas-area) with no basis for the author's ranking, other than his own opinion on the matter.
The next round of Untapped Festivals is finally here! In addition to the usual festivals in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston, Untapped has also expanded down I-35 to both Austin (April 18th) and San Antonio. This year, Untapped Fort Worth will be on May 9th at Panther Island Pavilion. While the brewery line up has not been announced yet, this year's music festival will include the likes of The Lone Bellow, Big Data, and local band Telegraph Canyon. Festival organizer, Spune Productions, boasts that over 70 breweries with over 250 beers will be there touting both local and national breweries.
