We're all pretty excited about the Mavs winning the NBA national championship on Sunday. It's no question that we've all waited a long time for this to happen and no one deserves it more than the Mavs do. They played with their hearts and they played like friggin' champions. Now that the Mavs are back in Dallas, what better way to congratulate our home team than to celebrate with hundreds of thousands of fans at the Victory Parade this Thursday.

2011 Annual BrewRiot & Homebrew Competition in Bishop Arts

The 3rd annual BrewRiot and Homebrew competition takes place in the historic Bishop Arts District on May 22, from 4-8pm. Local homebrewers compete in the streets showcasing their craft brews alongside live music, games, and more. Several regional microbrewies will also be on hand sampling their wares and answering questions. Adding to the Brewriot this year is a Backyard Burger Throw-down competition, and a live performance by The King Bucks. Bring your IDs. Kids and pets are welcome.

The 17th annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival rolls out the biggest party of the year. Six blocks of Main Street in the Deep Ellum entertainment district will be transformed into one enormous street festival featuring, 130 top-notch juried decorative and visual artists, 80 original bands, singer/songwriters and performance artists performing from 5 different stages, the renowned Pet Parade, and copious food and drink.
