“Artist v Architect” Happens Tonight in One Arts Plaza

On Thursday, November 14, 2013, One Arts Plaza is proud to bring you, Artist v Architect, a live event and auction benefitting Family Compass. Artist v Architect is a one-of-a-kind exhibition and auction serving as a platform to celebrate the creativity of the modern world of art and architecture.

Architects from firms including HKS Architects, OMNIPLAN, O’Brien Architecture, Perkins + Will, HILDARODRIGUEZ Architecture and many more have been paired with local artists (photographers, sculptors, painters etc) including Leonard Volk FAIA emeritus, Kevin Page, Carolyn Collins, Ali Golzad, Riley Holloway and more to creatively and collaboratively showcase their talents. The result is an evening paying tribute to the artistic process and journey showcasing how collaboration can inspire us all.

If you appreciate art, architecture, design, sculpture and supporting a great cause this is the place to be on 11.14.13.

“We are thrilled to bring Artist v. Architect to One Arts Plaza this year. The event is a natural fit due to the fact that our building anchors the Arts District and the people who live, work, and dine at One Arts Plaza all have a heightened sense of interest in the thriving art and cultural scene in Dallas. Not to mention the event is just plain fun. We’re hoping it is a huge success and we can make this event an annual occurrence.” – Lucy Billingsley, Billingsley Company

Throughout the evening you will also have the opportunity to bid via silent and live auction on all of the created works. The official auction beneficiary for 2013 is Family Compass, formally known as the Child Abuse Prevention Center (www.family-compass.org). With a mission to build healthy families and a strong Dallas community by preventing child abuse and neglect, Family Compass implements proven and effective programs so that parents can be equipped and empowered to raise healthy and productive children. 100% of all silent and live auction proceeds go directly to this deserving organization.
